Spotlight on the art of David Jenkins
The Art of Fractals

Exploring fractal plains is a lot like walking across Africa. After a while one realizes that even in a life time most of the potential “vistas’ won’t be seen. So, after 15 years of “exploration” David Jenkins has yet to loose any of the curiosity of what might be coaxed, modeled, and colored from fractal equations to create his digital art.

Over those years David’s work has been exhibited in the US and Europe. His art has won several awards including a Sedona Arts Festival “Best of Class”, the Los Angles Center for Digital Arts “Top 40” and has been recognized by PBS KVPT in the “Textures of Fresno” TV special.

David now works in his small Kingman, Arizona studio surrounded by computers, scanners and printers, drinking coffee and listening to synthesizer music where the computers run 24/7 rendering new possibilities under his direction. Away from the studio David prefers the non-digital world as he hikes in the deserts of Arizona with his camera, digging for dinosaurs in the Bad Lands of Montana or sitting atop elephants in Thailand.

David’s work is presently on exhibit at the Southern Nevada Museum of Fine Art in Las Vegas and he has been recently invited to do a solo exhibit of his “Oz” themed work at the Fresno State Department of Theater Arts in conjunction with the University’s performance of “Time Again in Oz”.
